Finishing up my tour of duty. It has been a wonderful experience teaching surgery and alternative medicine. It has reminded me how much I enjoy teaching and mentoring students. I have been able to work with a talented teacher and surgeon, Dr. Priti Karnick. I think we created a good, relaxed atmosphere for the students to do their first spays without feeling intimidated.
I also hosted the Ross University Pain Management Club at my house last Saturday. Instead of a wet lab, it was more a demonstration on a couple of their dogs as to how I combine acupuncture, chiropractic
and massage in treating my patients. They seemed to like it. And I gave an encore of my CAVM seminar to prep students today as well as finished my diving certification with two open water dives. Finishing in a flurry!
This nine weeks has really flown by. There is a lot to like about island life. But there’s no place like home. So I’ll be home this weekend. I can’t wait to start doing surgery again instead of watching it!
